Country Creek Builders recently finished a major master bathroom remodel project for the Goodman family in Apple Valley, Minnesota. The homeowners wanted to completely remodel their master bath to give it a more open feel and bring in more natural light.
Country Creek Builders recently finished a major master bathroom remodel for the Goodman family in Apple Valley, Minnesota. The homeowners wanted to completely remodel their master bath to give it a more open feel and bring in more natural light.After meeting with the homeowners and discussing several different options, the design phase for this transformation began. Country Creek Builders proposed removing the two worn out casement windows and replacing them with full picture windows. The homeowners never opened the casement windows, so changing them to picture windows made perfect sense. This change also added much needed natural light the homeowners desired and contributed to the new light and open feel. Country Creek Builders also proposed removing the outdated jet tub and some of the interior walls and a door that had enclosed the toilet area. Removing these walls helped open up this bathroom and create much needed space. The design for this master bathroom remodel did keep one wall giving the homeowner the privacy they desired. Replacing the old six panel oak doors, oak trim and base were also high on the list. After a few minor adjustments to the design, selections were made, and the project began.
Replacing the larger, outdated corner jet tub with a free standing soaking tub added much needed floor space to the old cramped bathroom. A new sleek, modern 66” X 36” free-standing tub was placed in front of the new picture windows. This simple design change made the bathroom feel less cramped and give the space an open, modern feel.
The old framed, obscured shower glass was removed and new frameless, clear shower glass was installed. This change showcases the large, light-colored Ted Baker Bright Light Gray Versatile tiles that were installed in the shower. A Silver Mist Honed Limestone 2 x 2 deco was added in the shower to blend with the Premium Antrasit 12 x 24 floor tile. The floor tile was installed on a 45-degree angle to draw your attention to the large corner windows with the soaking tub. The same Ted Baker tile used in the shower was also installed on the bathroom walls in a wainscot application. The Silver Mist Limestone deco was also carried over from the shower into the wainscot wall tile to add continuity to the overall design.
Two Dover White custom vanities were designed and crafted with flat panel doors and soft close drawer slides. Two inch flat stock mirror frames were added and painted Dover White to match the vanities. The vanities were topped off with Concrete Carrara Zodiaq counter tops with matching splash. Two Norris white 18 X 12 under mount sinks were installed to continue the clean, bright feel for this master bathroom remodeling project.
As you can see, the before and after pictures of this master bathroom transformation are stunning. The design plan that Country Creek Builders provided the Goodman family up front showed them what their new master bathroom would look like before any remodeling work was started. This allowed all of us to make adjustments before the project began so there were no interruptions during the project process. The Goodman family is now loving their new master bathroom remodel and greatly appreciated that the design plans showed them what the finished project would look like ahead of the work.
